Luther King Jr., with over five hundred presentations

speeches, including:
I HAVE A DREAM
I'VE BEEN TO THE PROMISED LAND
THE DRUM MAJOR
and THE MEETING
by Jeff Stetson; a play based on a fictitious meeting between
Dr. King and Malcolm X. in the 1960's
In 2011 Mr. Cosby was featured in an article by Becky
Robinette Wright in the January issue of Richmond's
FIFTYPLUS magazine entitled;
Richmond resident honors Martin Luther King Jr
In the article Mr. Cosby is quoted as saying,
"All my life I've admired King. I had this little thing I did...it
would be a reading of King's speeches. But it was just a
reading. Then Rev, Odie Brown of Second Baptist Church
on Idlewood Avenue asked me to do a reading of the, I HAD
A DREAM speech.
Something happened while doing the speech and not only
did I speak the speech, but I re-enacted the mannerisms of
King. Afterwards people came up to me and said I sounded
just like King. It began to take off from there."
